If you're looking for a high quality telescope that's hassle-free, affordable, and versatile, then look no further than the Askar 71F Flat-Field Refractor! This easy to use refractor is fitted with four lens elements, meaning there is no need to calculate backspacing and is equipped with an inherent flat field. Enjoy sharp stars corner to corner, even with full frame cameras. Not only is this Askar quadruplet telescope optimal for astrophotography, the included set of visual accessories allows you to observe both day and night right out of the box. Askar didn't stop there however: with quality APO optics and the ability to add an electronic focuser, the 71F has much more to offer!
The Askar 71F Flat-Field refractor features a quadruplet air-spaced APO optical design with one ED element. This allows its 71 mm front aperture optics to provide an apochromatic image that you'll appreciate whether you're capturing vibrant nebulae or radiant galaxies. With an f/6.9 design and 490 mm focal length, this scope excels at imaging wider-field targets like the Andromeda galaxy or Orion nebula. Connecting your gear to capture these celestial objects is made easy, as the 71F comes standard with a collection of photographic adapters. All of this is paired with a solid 10:1 dual-speed 2.4" rack and pinion focuser that is ready for a multitude of the most popular user supplied electronic focusers, a multi-function handlebar for the addition of accessories, and a camera rotator, making the 71F a prime option for any astroimager.
With 71mm of aperture and four internal lens elements, take advantage of these sharp optics for viewing a wide range of celestial objects. Not only this, but the Askar F71 can also be utilized as a powerful daytime spotting scope. Get up close and personal with captivating star clusters or enjoy a relaxing day of birdwatching. Thanks to the apochromatic design, the clarity seen within your eyepiece is sure to impress! Also, Askar has included numerous accessories to help you get started, such as a 1.25” 45° erecting diagonal along with two eyepieces. The versatility provided by this Askar 71F Quadruplet Refractor makes it a must have for both visual astronomers and astrophotographers alike.
At only 6.6 lbs. the Askar 71F will work with most tripods and astronomy mounts for a truly compelling portable do-it-all scope! Read on to see just how Askar has blended quality optics with a number of great quality-of-life features in this excellent entry in their F-Series of scopes!
No Extra Corrective Lenses Required
With a quadruplet air-spaced APO optical arrangement, the Askar 71F Flat-Field Refractor provides a flat, apochromatic, image directly to your camera. With no external field flattener to purchase, attach, and then detach for visual use, this scope saves you both time and money! This design also ditches exacting backfocus requirements and calculations - just space your camera out enough to reach focus to enjoy maximum optical performance. Askar has packed all of these great optical features into a design that covers 44 mm, meaning you'll get excellent images with even full-frame gear!
Visual and Imaging Adapters Included
This scope has been designed to be used whichever time of day you're out! With the M64-M54, M54-M54, and M54-M48 adapters, attaching T-Rings or astronomy camera spacers is a breeze; and with 2" filter threads integrated in the M54-M48 adapter so is adding an imaging filter to your setup. For visual use these can easily be swapped with the M64 to 2" visual back and 2" to 1.25" adapter. An 1.25" erecting prism diagonal has been included to provide right-side-up images for observing far away objects and animals during the day, which can be viewed at either 25x or 60x with the included 8 mm and 20 mm 1.25" eyepieces.
Electronic Focuser Ready
The dual-speed 2.4" rack and pinion focuser featured on this scope provides a solid platform for everything from the light-weight eyepieces to complex imaging trains full of accessories. For those looking to build a more dedicated astrophotography setup, Askar has delivered with out-of-the-box compatibility for electronic focusers! With confirmed compatibility for not just ZWO's excellent EAF, but also a wide range of other bracket-style electronic focusers, the 71F Flat-Field refractor allows you to confidently pair this with your user supplied automated focusing solution of choice.
Excellent Extras
It doesn't stop with quality optics, a solid focuser, and all the adapters you need, as Askar has packed in a number of other accessories that push the value of this refractor even further! First is the multi-function handle, which has been slotted for Synta-style accessories such as guidescopes and WiFi camera control options like ZWO's ASIAIR series. Combined this with the two finder bases, and you're left with ample mounting options and space for a plethora of gear! For astrophotographers, Askar has included a 360-degree camera rotator that will allow you to frame up targets any orientation you please! Finally, supporting the 71F is a 230 mm Vixen dovetail (black), which sports both 1/4" and 3/8" threaded connection points that make as at-home on tripod as it is in a astronomy mount saddle!
